Jamie Foxx Slams Spike Lee On 'Irresponsible' 'Django Unchained' Criticism

Jamie Foxx is sticking up for Django Unchained director, Quentin Tarantino. The movie has been facing criticism for the usage of the N-word notably coming from director Spike Lee. The slavery-era Western, is nominated for five Academy Awards and Lee has made it clear that he will not be supporting and continues to boycott the film that he claims is "disrespectful" to his ancestors.

In an interview with The Guardian Foxx defended the film and Tarantino, "The questions for me is (sic): Where is Spike Lee coming from?... I mean, I respect Spike, he's a fantastic director. But he gets a little shady when he takes shots at his colleagues without looking at the work. To me, that's irresponsible."

Known for pushing the limits in majority of his films, Foxx makes the point that there is nothing new to his formula of work, "You got to look at the individual cases. When Pat Boone covered Little Richard, you think, 'Huh?', he's got no affinity for it... But you can't tell me that Eminem ain't (sic) hot 'cos he's white or that Elvis Presley isn't a bad motherf**ker, or that Quentin Tarantino can't do whatever he likes, 'cos damn straight he can."
