Kristen Bell Leaves 'Frozen' Voicemail as Disney's Princess Anna
Kristen Bell doesn't just know how to melt our hearts as Disney's cartoon Princess Anna from Frozen, she also knows how to warm all of our hearts in real-life and she did just that when she left a voicemail for 6-year-old Avery Huffman. Avery was diagnosed with DIPG (diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma) on June 30th. DIPG is, sadly, an inoperable brain tumor. Bell called little Avery as her character, Princess Anna, wishing her a wonderful day. She then confered with Elsa (who could not be heard over the phone) and repeated to Avery that Queen Elsa would like to bestow upon her an honorary title--"Princess Avery of Arendelle." Bell took the time to learn about Avery's favorite toy, Hoppy Jumpy, a stuffed bunny. She also didn't leave out greetings to some of Avery's best friends and she kept the magic alive by telling Avery about her day with her magically enchanted snowman friend, Olaf.
The publicity due to Bell's kindness has brought awareness to Avery's situation, touching all of our hearts. About 19 hours ago, Brandon Huffman, Avery's father, reported on Avery's Caring Bridge Blog, "So we persevere. Her perseverance this week has been incredible. Whether it has been in her attitude or in the way she attacks each day, it[']s been so incredible to witness. We look for the little moments and pockets where we see some improvement, ANY improvement, physically." Although this is a very sad situation especially to all who know and love Avery, it teaches us all that sometimes it's the little things that we can do in order to help others, to make someone else's day. Thank you Kristen Bell. You are an inspiration to us and your selfless gesture served as a gentle reminder that kindness doesn't take much effort at all.
