Melissa McCarthy's New Clothing Line, Seven7, For 'Real' Women
As if we didn't love curves! Spy star, Melissa McCarthy, recently shared a few of her pieces that are going to be in her new clothing line, Seven7. Yahoo!News says, "Animal prints, bold geometrics and body-hugging silhouettes are just some of the looks that will become available at Lane Bryant and Macy's, plus online at HSN and Melissa's website on September 1." McCarthy confessed that although she loves comedy, getting into the fashion industry has always been a secret dream of hers. Us Weekly says she revealed in an interview with Vogue, "It's always what I thought I would do." McCarthy had a lot of fun planning her wardrobe and implementing some of her lines pieces for her recently released film, Spy, with stylist Judy Swartz.
McCarthy's line took care of a lot of her pet peeves that she found when shopping for clothing. One of them being jeans and McCarthy admits to not having any jeans at one point in time because she could never find the right fit. People reports McCarthy saying, "I've worn every single piece. There are little jeans that are super stretchy and they come all the way up, because I just do not need to see anyone's muffin top, and I do not need to see anyone bend over and be able to tell what color underwear they're wearing anymore." High-waisted denim is coming back and has been previously seen before, but maybe much like McCarthy, we are all sick of the "muffin-top" phenomena. She also mentioned that many of the clothes in her line will have pockets and sleeves. She explained since she is a busy working mom on the go that she wants "pockets inside [her] pockets!" You can tell she is having fun and can't wait to see the success of her new line. What she said of sleeves was, "I have friends who are size 26 and size 8 and they want a sleeve! Very few things [in Seven7] don't have sleeves. My stuff has sleeves, my stuff has pockets, you can count on that," People reports.
McCarthy's new line "focuses on bringing trendsetting looks to women of all shapes and sizes, with a range from size 4 to 28," Us Weekly says. The cost of her styles will be between $54-$150. It is pretty clear that not only does the Bridesmaids star make us laugh, but now she is creating stylish clothing for women of all shapes and sizes!
