USA 'Complications' Recap: Episode 9: Jason O'Mara, Jessica Szohr, Chris Chalk "Deterioration"
With 2 episodes left of the first season, Complications continues on USA Network. From Burn Notice creator Matt Nix, in episode 9, what will John Ellison (Jason O'Mara), Gretchen Polk (Jessica Szohr), and Darius Bishop (Chris Chalk) discover they are in Deterioration?
Nine months ago, on a car ride, John takes his family, including his sick daughter, to a cabin.In front of a campfire, John sits with his daughter, who asks why she got sick. Unfortunately, he doesn't have an answer for her.
To his wife, Samantha (Beth Riesgraf), John admits the lies he's been telling, but he couldn't stop it. Samantha and John hurry to the door, where Detective Holden (Brent Sexton) is standing with a subpoena. Unfortunately, John has to stand a witness in court against a gang member.
While Samantha fights for her husband, Gretchen gets a call from her sister, who's been kicked out of rehab. Bishop isn't too happy to hear John wants to move Antwon from his hospital care. After a gang member makes a pass at John's wife, a cop has to break up their argument.
Unfortunately, the court keeps John from traveling out of state. He then travels to see his own father an admits everything is not fine. Knowing his family is danger, John asks his father to take them in. Samantha turns to her ex-lover, who refuses to budge to help him.
Ingrid calls Gretchen to tell her the roommate is freaking out. While driving, John gets into a car chase with rival gang members. After being checked up on in the hospital, John calls his wife, telling her the bad news about his crash. Telling Samantha he loves her, John feels like he cannot run and needs to see someone.
John then makes a recording in the event of his disappearance and hands it over to Bridget (Lauren Stamile). Gretchen joins John as he pays a visit to Antwon's father at the prison. In the car ride, Gretchen tells John about her rough childhood, how she escaped with her sister.
With the dog barking nonstop, the grandfather realizes someone is breaking not his home and takes out a shotgun. It was actually Samantha's ex who he was shooting at. Samantha yells at the drunken fool, telling him their relationship is over.
John tells Antwon's father that he is going to tell what he knows; his silence is peace. If anyone touches his family, dead or alive, John will bury him. After a yelling match, John lost his daughter; his son is still alive.
Gretchen sees Ingrid playing nurse while their roommate slept. Her sister is more worried about what Gretchen is deeply involved in. John visits his wife, thinking its over. Samantha confesses her mistake and comes clean about her affair.
After begging for forgiveness, John is unable to deal with it. He tells her to go way, get out of his sight. John breaks down as he gets call from Darius, ho's mad he has to make peace with the rival gangs. peace is one thing; forgiveness is another.
Darius doesn't care if it's a gang member or a doctor; he'll be seeing John real soon.
