Monday Night Raw Preview 8/10/15: Stephen Amell Guest Stars
The August 10, 2015 episode of WWE's Monday Night Raw will emanate live from the XFINITY Arena in Everett, Washington, and Arrow star Stephen Amell will guest star.
Amell appeared in the front row several weeks ago on Raw, and he got into a staredown with Stardust. The two have been exchanging words on social media since then, and Stardust has even called out Amell on TV. Now, the Green Arrow himself will appear live on Raw to confront him. It's very likely that Neville will also be involved in this somehow. The Man That Gravity Forgot has tussled with Stardust in the past several weeks, and they even had a match a few weeks ago preceded by a comic book styled graphic. Will tonight set up a match between Stardust and Neville (likely with Amell or the Arrow in his corner) at SummerSlam?
Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman sent a message to The Undertaker last week in which Heyman practically burst a blood vessel shouting at the Deadman in Latin about how he will need his last rites at the end of the fight in two weeks, while Lesnar stood atop the steel steps in the ring like an Olympian awaiting his gold medal. Undertaker likely will not appear tonight and might not show up at all until SummerSlam itself. If so, then it falls to Heyman and Lesnar to keep the momentum going. How will the Advocate address the Phenom tonight?
WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins has challenged United States Champion John Cena to a title vs. title match at SummerSlam. It's no Hogan vs. Warrior at WrestleMania VI, but it's a story with some juice for a few reasons. For starters, it actually makes sense. Rollins is a cowardly weasel of a champion who holds onto the belt by the skin of his teeth, while Cena has taken the tertiary title in the company and elevated it to relevance again. On a more meta level, many fans are displeased with Rollins' title reign and feel that he has been weak since he got the belt, while Cena has been putting on excellent matches with a variety of opponents week after week.
Rollins then legitimately broke Cena's nose in a match two weeks ago, and last week he challenged the U.S. Champion to a match knowing that he likely wouldn't be able to compete. But WWE has since advertised that Cena will try to answer Rollins' challenge tonight. How will his nose look? Will he be able to compete in two weeks? Cena is basically Wolverine, so it wouldn't be surprising, but let's see what happens.
The Divas Revolution continues, and now we have our three teams officially named and set: Team Bella (Nikki Bella, Brie Bella, and Alicia Fox), The Submission Sorority (Paige, Becky Lynch, and Charlotte), and Team BAD (Sasha Banks, Naomi, and Tamina Snuka). Although reports say The Submission Sorority has now been changed to PCB. Tonight should be the night we get a proper match booked for SummerSlam, so let's see what happens.
Interestingly, Lesnar vs. Taker is the only match officially booked for the pay-per-view as of this writing.
Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose continue to oppose Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper. Last week, Randy Orton and Sheamus got thrown into the mix. How will the two former Shield mates try to hold off Bray and Harper tonight? Will we get an official tag team match for SummerSlam? Will Orton and Sheamus fight yet again in two weeks?
