Fox's '24' Spinoff: Will Kiefer Sutherland's Jack Bauer, Mary Lynn Rajskub's Chloe Meet Cast?
The clock will be ticking again as Fox is planning a spinoff from their popular 24 franchise. Will ex-CTU agents Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) and Chloe O'Brien (Mary Lynn Rajskub) return to meet the new cast as their series "resets" itself?
As we perviously mentioned, Fox is developing a 24 spinoff, which would revolve around a new twenty-something male terrorist hunter. Executive Producer Howard Gordon confirmed the project to the sit at the recent Critics Choice Television Awards. This new character will be teamed up with a more seasoned female agent.
The spinoff will follow the traditional 24 format, each episode represents an hour of a single day. Manny Coto and Evan Katz will serve as writers and executive producers. Fox will most likely launch the spinoff as a limited series, much like Live Another Day. Sutherland would return in a cameo but would have no involvement in the series.
We also mentioned, Mary Rajskub revealed if she would return to 24 franchise as Chloe O'Brien without Kiefer Sutherland involved, "I'm not buying it without Kiefer. I think you can have him sort of not there for a bit, but you have to find him eventually. All roads lead to Jack, and you can't find Jack without Chloe."
According to IGN, during the TCA (Television Critics Association) press tour, Fox chairman and CEO Gary Newman discussed if Sutherland would return as Jack Bauer, "Obviously we would love to have Kiefer [Sutherland] and we went to him first. It isn't something he wants to do at this point, but he encouraged us to continue and look for a way to bring the show back."
Newman adds, "Honestly I don't know whether we'll see any old characters or not. It would not surprise me if it's a total reset in terms of the characters."
