Leroy Hill Arrested for Domestic Violence, Again: Seattle Seahawks Linebacker Could Face Assault, Unlawful Imprisonment Charges
Reports confirm that Seattle Seahawks linebacker Leroy Hill has been arrested for a domestic violence incident... again. Hill, who is currently coming out of contract with the Seahawks and pending as a free agent this spring, was arrested in Issaquah, Washington on Tuesday (Jan. 29) but has yet to be formally charged.
Pro Football Talk's Curtis Crabtree reports:
"Hill was arrested for fourth-degree assault and unlawful imprisonment. The assault would be a gross misdemeanor while the unlawful imprisonment would be a Class C felony charge in Washington state. The latter would carry a sentence of up to five years in jail and a fine of up to $10,000 if Hill is charged and convicted."
KOMO-TV sports director Mike Ferreri also updated his Twitter account:
@MikeKOMOsports: "Need to amend legal wording. According to WSP Leroy Hill arrested on DV Tuesday in Issaquah. Has not formally been charged. #Seahawks#NFL."
This is not 30-year-old Hill's first run-in with the law. The NFL star (who played seven seasons with the Seahawks) has quite the arrest record:
- In January 2009, Hill was arrested in Atlanta, Georgia for marijuana possession after police found him passed out behind the wheel of his car at an intersection.
- On April 11th, 2010 Hill was arrested for suspicion of domestic abuse in Issaquah, WA. Hill allegedly hit his girlfriend during an altercation, leaving "obvious injuries" on her body.
- On February 24th, 2012 Hill was arrested on another possession of marijuana charge, after a search warrant was served at his Buckhead residence. Charges were eventually dropped on March 5th, 2012 after a urine test taken after the arrest came up negative.
Little other details have been released about Hill's recent domestic violence arrest.
