'Captain America: Civil War' Spoilers Revealed in New D23 Footage
Captain America: Civil War will not arrive until 2016, but some lucky people got to see new footage at Disney's D23 Expo recently. Luckily, many sites revealed some spoilers for us all to enjoy! [SPOILERS to follow]
IGN reports that the footage begins with Captain America, Black Widow, and Falcon fighting Crossbones as he tries to blow up a truck. During the fight, Crossbones throws a magnetic explosive at Cap’s shield, so he flings it into the air to divert the explosion away from the crowd. Crossbones then takes off his mask and shows his scarred face underneath. He turns to Cap and says, "He remembered you, you know. Your little pal Bucky."
The footage then jumps to the post-credits scene of Ant-Man, in which Cap and Falcon are talking to Bucky. Bucky tells Cap that he remembers his mom’s name was Sarah and relays another childhood memory. Cap smiles as he realizes that some piece of his old friend is still in there.
Next, General Ross (William Hurt from The Incredible Hulk) tells Cap that the country owes him a debt it can never repay, but some people say he's a vigilante, not a hero. The scene then cuts to Cap and Tony Stark talking about the next steps, and Tony says they have no one to answer to, which means they are just like the villains they face. "That's what this is about to you? Protection?" Cap asks. They continue to fight and Iron Man tells Cap, "Sometimes I want to punch you in your perfect teeth."
The footage then moves to quick shots of the heroes firing off one-liners. "In this job, you try to save everybody you can. Sometimes that doesn't mean everybody," say a very serious Captain America. Black Widow and Hawkeye, on opposite teams in this Civil War, are about to clash. "We're still friends, right?" Black Widow asks. "Depends on how hard you hit me," Hawkeye quips. The footage ends with Hawkeye opening a van to show Paul Rudd as Ant-Man. He's completely starstruck by Captain America and trembles as he meets him. He humorously botches the greeting, saying, "You know a lot of super people, so thinks for thanking of me."
