WWE 'NXT' Preview 8/19/15: Final Show Before 'Takeover: Brooklyn' 2015

The August 19, 2015 episode of WWE's NXT will continue to build to NXT Takeover: Brooklyn and will be the final show before that event this Saturday at the Barclays Center.

Last week, Kevin Owens attacked NXT Champion Finn Balor following the latter's victory over Marcus Louis. The champ fought back valiantly but Owens managed to catch him with a Pop-Up Powerbomb and posed over Balor's carcass in a sign of what could happen at Takeover this Saturday in front of a sold-out Barclays Center.

That segment served as a go-home of sorts for the match Saturday even though there is still one more episode to fill. Tonight, they will likely just give some microphone time to Owens, Balor, or both, either in the ring or in the form of a backstage interview or video package to hype us for the rematch.

And lest we forget, General Manager William Regal made this a ladder match at Finn Balor's request. Owens had asked for it, and Balor insisted, so there we are. Regal has gone on record as saying he wants Balor to shut KO up once and for all, which Owens has called an abuse of power on the GM's part.

Bayley is continuing her Sami Zayn-like journey toward the NXT Women's Championship, and she seems poised to capture it from Sasha Banks on Saturday both in storyline and behind the scenes. On screen, she has vanquished two of her old rivals in back-to-back weeks in Charlotte and Becky Lynch, and now she needs to only take out Sasha to capture the belt that has eluded her for so long.

Sasha will be at NXT tonight for a contract signing with Bayley, so we'll have to wait and see if it devolves into violence as these things so often do.

Behind the scenes, Sasha has been called up to the main roster and is now busy with the Divas Revolution, so it makes sense to put the belt on Bayley, who is down in NXT full time. It would be the logical conclusion to both of their stories and would be a fitting way to send Sasha up to the main roster for good.

Tyler Breeze has been chirping that he will take out Jushin "Thunder" Liger on Saturday, just as he took out fellow Japanese star Hideo Itami. But Prince Pretty has barely competed since the last Takeover special, so perhaps we could see him mix it up in the ring tonight as a tune-up for this weekend.

The Vaudevillains get one more shot at Wesley Blake and Buddy Murphy for the NXT Tag Team Championships on Saturday, and Alexa Bliss continues to be a thorn in the side of the challengers. Simon Gotch and Aiden English have hinted that they have a new recruit to neutralize the petite blonde, but who could it be?

Baron Corbin and Samoa Joe are set to fight on Saturday, and this story needs little more than what it has been given so far. Corbin is an unstoppable force who has obliterated everyone in his path, and Samoa Joe is the veteran who is not impressed with the young man's streak. Let these two big men rumble a little bit tonight and then have a proper match at Takeover.

As always, check back with MStars immediately after the show for a full recap of all the action. But for now, let us know your thoughts, opinions, guesses, and predictions for tonight's show in the comments section.
