Lil Wayne did not cut his signature dreads. A photo of the rapper with his hair in a ponytail appeared to seem as if the rapper cut off his lovely locks for a lighter look. He "Long hair, don't care" motto had the Internet world gasp at the legitimate photo of him posing with Big Boi.
Lil Wayne was in his hometown of New Orleans for his pre-Super Bowl party performance where MTV News contributor, Kelley L. Carter cleared up the afro rumors saying, "I'm pretty sure he still had his dreads and they were pulled back in a ponytail," she said. "In fact, I'm like 1,000 percent positive. I would've noticed that."
The MTV correspondent uploaded a picture of her with Lil Wayne and his dreads to debunk any rumors. The rapper performed at the EA Games party rocking songs like "John" and "She Will," form his "Tha Carter IV" album.
The "lollipop" rapper is excited that the Super Bowl is being held in his hometown this year and is amped up to watch the game, but says he doesn't have a team favorite between the San Francisco 49ers and the Baltimore Ravens, "I'm excited for it to be in New Orleans, for the city, period," he told MTV News. "Just for the city to get that kind of respect and that recognition, after such a tragedy [like Hurricane Katrina]. He added, "I'm going to just chill with family, enjoy the game like everybody else," he said. "My team's not in it, so I ain't trippin'."
