Singer Adele is slated for a big performance at the Oscar Academy Awards ceremony, Feb. 24. But what intimidates the 24-year old singer is having to perform to the huge gathering of celebrities. She is said to have visited a hypnotherapist in preparation for the performance.

"A friend in LA recommended the hypnotherapist because Adele was getting so nervous about the gig," said a source to The Sun.

"She has been rehearsing for the show with an orchestra, but all the preparation in the world isn't enough to keep her calm."

"She was so nervous before last year's Grammys that she was sick before going on stage. She doesn't want a repeat of that."

The singer is to give a special performance for Oscars where she will be singing "Skyfall" theme song. Adele's idol, Barbara Streisand will also be performing at the Oscars ceremony. She is returning to stage after a gap of 36 years.

The "Skyfall" theme song is also nominated for the Best Original Song Award. The song had earlier won the Best Original Song at the Golden Globes Awards ceremony.
