3 Ways to Stop Eating Sugar and Stay Healthy [PHOTO + VIDEO]
Can't lose weight? Stop eating sugar, folks. Sadly, that's easier said than done because sugar is just so damn delicious! Okay, maybe not plain sugar, but when you mix it with other ingredients it's oh-so-heavenly. Unfortunately it's also a silent killer. Therefore, MStars News is aiming to help you out and show you some ways to stop eating so much sugar.
Aren't we just the sweetest bunch? In fact, sweeter than sugar! #BadJoke
Per a report from Men's Health, Americans on average eat "23 teaspoons of added sugar a day." Which doesn't really sound like much when reading but when you get home we suggest you actually lay out 23 teaspoons of sugar on your counter and see what it looks like.
Yeah... it's pretty gross.
So, how can we kick that habit? Let's see:
ADD YOUR OWN SWEETNESS TO YOGURT
Don't buy pre-sweetened sugar with fruit sitting at the bottom. You're better off buying plain yogurt (Greek! It's better for you) and adding the fruit yourself. Per the Men's Health report, those fruit-on-the-bottom yogurts can hold about 30 grams of sugar per container.
GRILL YOUR DESSERT
It sounds weird but grilling your dessert acts as a wonderful source of fiber. Of course, grill things like watermelon or peaches. Not apple pie or vanilla ice cream. Hopefully we didn't have to tell you but still. Better safe than sorry, I guess.
STOP DRINKING SODA
If you must drink soda, make it seltzer. Other than that, you can try diet soda but that's still not that great for you, folks. Therefore, your best bet is to limit your soda intake.
