NeNe Leakes Confirms Co-Host Spot For 'Fashion Police' On Instagram
NeNe Leakes had been rumored to be joining the upcoming revamped season of Fashion Police, but she just confirmed her official spot as a co-host on her Instagram. The Real Housewives of Atlanta star took to her social media page to let her fans know that she will be starting her new gig with the hard-hitting fashion show next Monday, just after the MTV Video Music Awards red carpet photos have hit the web. She also confirmed that she will be sitting with Melissa Rivers in the hosting spots, who is taking her late mother Joan Rivers’ seat on the show. The beloved and controversial comedian passed away on September 4th of last year due to complications from a surgery.
Leakes originally reported the exciting news on her blog, where she titled the post, "Making Joan Proud," in honor of the late Fashion Police host. Her caption even revealed that Rivers had a huge effect on her career moves, giving her some unforgettable advice during their brief time together while she was a guest host.
Last year, producers of Fashion Police recruited Kathy Griffin to fill Rivers’ slot in the hosting chair, but later stepped down shortly after Kelly Osbourne decided to leave the show. The red-carpet-critiquing show quickly went off the air after the two hosts stepped down, with E! announcing that they would be revamping the series. It was then announced that they would be launching the revamped show in September 2015, with rumors swirling that Leakes would be one of the hosts.
Reports say that the show is set to premiere after the MTV VMA’s, but will only be airing for a total of 6 episodes. There is no word on whether the network has plans to pursue any more episodes for the popular series in the future.
