"Friends" fans are in for a bit of a treat as Courteney Cox is set to appear on Matthew Perry's new NBC comedy, "Go On," in April. Also to the delight of "Friends" fanatics, Cox will be portraying, Anne, a new love interest to Perry's sports talk radio host, Ryan King. With a 10-year run full of relationships, dinners and even a monkey, "Friends" has become one of the most successful television series of all time. Detailing the lives of 6 friends living in New York City, the sitcom let us into the hi-jinx and heartbreaks each week and making household names out of the characters and the actors portraying them. Other than Cox and Perry, the show introduced the world to Lisa Kudrow, Jennifer Aniston, David Schwimmer and Matt LeBlanc as Phoebe, Rachel, Ross and Joey respectively. Everyone remembers the "will they, won't they" relationship of Rachel and Ross, the lovable stupidity of Phoebe and Joey, and of course all of the dating and guest stars. The show developed a formula for sitcoms involving groups of friends dealing with everyday issues. Recent shows that take cues from "Friends" include "New Girl," "How I Met Your Mother," and "Happy Endings."
One of the biggest storylines during the run of "Friends" was when Monica and Chandler started a secret relationship. As time went on, the two fell even more in love with each other but felt that the other friends would not like the two being involved with each other. After each of the others found out over time, the two got engaged and got married in one of the most important episodes of the series as well as modern television. Viewers enjoyed the last seasons with the married couple moving in together, dealing with ex-lovers and even trying to have a baby. "Friends" came to an end when the show's most important couple decided to leave the city to start their new life with their new child.
After "Friends, Cox moved on to her own show, "Cougertown," and has seen some success with the show. Jennifer Aniston even appeared as a guest on the new show for another mini-reunion. Cox also recently had a guest appearance on Lisa Kudrow's Showtime show, "Web Therapy." Now appearing on "Go On" with Perry, it seems like the "Friends" are trying to keep fans happy by reminding us all of the great experiences from the sitcom. Considering the relationship between Monica and Chandler on "Friends," this reunion on "Go On" is sure to be the bring in a ton of attention.
