Drake vs. Jay-Z Beef: Tidal's Lil Weezyana Fest Live Stream Diss Rejected, Apple 'Threat' HOAX

Rapper Jay-Z's exclusive online music streaming service Tidal posted a live broadcast of Lil Wayne's Lil Weezyana Fest from New Orleans on Friday (August 28). Unfortunately, Drake's performance was ultimately excluded - but NOT because Apple threatened a whopping $20 million lawsuit!

During the YMCMB superstar's act, this accusatory message appeared on the screen:

But according to BuzzFeed, the 28-year-old Toronto native made the final decision to not participate. Apparently, the popular Cupertino company had nothing to do with it (although HOV's crew is currently saying otherwise).

Drizzy's manager Future the Prince further explains:

"The decision to not have Drake participate in the Tidal steam has nothing to do with Apple or Drake's deal... Point blank, 100%. I made a business decision. Apple doesn't have the power to stop us from being part of a live stream. The only people that have the power to do that are Cash Money and Universal, and they're our partners."

So, what's up with Tidal's blatent Twitter diss?

@TIDALHiFi: "1/2 Apple is interfering with artistry and will not allow this artist to stream. Sorry for Big Brother's inconvenience."

Prince is rather dumbfounded:

"I don't understand... If you're going to say something about the situation publicly, you should tell the truth. They saw the opportunity to take a situation and spin it in their favor as a publicity stunt."

Protecting Drake's "image" was the main concern (so not business-related whatsoever):

"We wanted to make sure the stream represented us in the right way, and we didn't have much insight into what they were doing," Prince concludes. "Aesthetics and quality are important to us and we didn't have any control over that or time to investigate it. We were just there to participate in the benefit."

Wayne sponsored the festival as a charity concert to benefit kids affected by Hurricane Katrina

Tidal has yet to comment.
