Mendeecees Harris' Drug Trafficking Sentence Delayed [DETAILS] More Time With Kids, Family
Mendeecees Harris is one lucky man right now! MStars News has learned that the Love & Hip Hop New York star is getting to spend more time with his kids and family after his drug trafficking sentencing was delayed.
According to Bossip, Yandy Smith Harris' husband won't have to face a judge to be sentenced on his crimes until the fall.
MStars News previously reported that the father-of-four pleaded guilty to felony conspiracy and possession with intent to distribute, right before he tied the knot with his costar, Yandy Smith.
Harris was supposed to be sentenced on Monday, Aug. 31 in New York State Federal Court, but the sentencing hearing was rescheduled for Oct. 2.
Harris' lawyer, Donald Thompson, claimed that his client's sentence was pushed back because of the judge's schedule.
"It was the judge's schedule," Thompson, revealed and added, "We didn't have any control over it."
MStars News previously learned that Harris' brother Tyrus Harris and Ronald Walker pleaded guilty in the case as well. Walker is currently serving ten years behind bars, as Tyrus got five years.
The government claimed that Harris helped operate a large drug dealing operation that transported cocaine and heroin from New York City to upstate New York.
In a plea deal, Harris is facing anywhere from five to 40 years in prison, and will have to pay a $5 million fine.
Thompson revealed that he was unsure how much time in prison Harris would get. "As we get closer, we'll have a better idea," he added, "We don't have anything firmed up.
While he awaits his fate, Harris has been busy with his family, the lawyer said.
"He seems to be doing well," Thompson described. "They're filming the new season, he's doing a lot of public appearances."
In the snapshots below, Harris spends quality time with his three sons, one of which he shares with wife Yandy Smith.
The couple's daughter, Skylar Smith Harris, was born back in January. She's seen below with her parents.
