Jimmy Superfly Snuka is a forefather of Samoan heritage in professional wrestling and is the main inspiration for WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley getting into the business. Today, the bright lights of his legendship dimmed a bit when it came out that he has been charged with one count of third-degree murder and one count of involuntary manslaughter for the death of his girlfriend back in 1983. For years rumors have been going around that Snuka was involved but this is the first time he has officially been charged criminally.

The incident was said to have taken place on the night of May 10, 1983. That night, Snuka claimed his girlfriend Nancy Argentino slipped on the side of the highway and hit her head.

Here's a clip of Snuka quickly mentioning the death on the Opie & Anthony Show:

After having some beers with other wrestlers Snuka returned to his hotel room where he noticed Argentino was oozing yellow fluid from his nose and mouth. An autopsy report later showed that the case should be treated as a homicide. It wasn't though and Snuka's original slip story held up.

This is what the official report said:

"Argentino suffered more than two dozen cuts and contusions – a possible sign of "mate abuse" – on her head, ear, chin, arms, hands, back, buttocks, legs and feet," Dr. Isidore Mihalakis wrote back in 1983. "In view of the autopsy findings and the discrepancies in the clinical history, I believe that the case should be investigated as a homicide until proven otherwise."

After years the report touched daylight and this is why the charges were finally brought up. For whatever reason the Lehigh County District Attorney's Office refused to allow it to be released.

Records also show in 1985, Snuka told police a different story and it wasn't about his girlfriend slipping on the side of the highway. He said the two were fooling around outside the hotel room and she fell and hit her head.
