FX 'The Strain' Season 2 Recap Episode 9: Corey Stoll, Mia Maestro's The Battle for Red Hook!

The Season 2 of The Strain continues on FX. Based on Guillermo Del Toro's bestselling novels, published by Dark Horse Comics, in Episode 8, are Ephraim Goodweather (Corey Stoll) and Nora Martinez (Mia Maestro) ready to fight in The Battle of Red Hook?

On a boat, Thomas Eichhorst (Richard Sammel) hires a captain to guide the vampires to the other side, Red Hook. Thomas is confident he will be able to dock and let his passengers loose. Thomas then visits Kelly (Natalie Brown), who is reeling from her failure against Nora

As Thomas needs Nora for the next phase of his plans,  Eph and his team realize they need more firepower and councilwoman Justine Feraldo (Samantha Mathis). Eph hands Zach (Max Charles) a knife before the head out with Abraham (David Bradley). As Dutch (Ruta Gedmintas) and Niki reconcile, Vasiliy Fet (Kevin Durand) needs his ex to fight by his side. 

Abraham realizes there is a change in Eph, advising him to remain human among monsters. While Justine is arguing with  Eph and Abraham, Thomas has gotten past Red Hook's checkpoint. 

Niki and Dutch argue over her love for Fet, but end up having passionate sex. The vampirefirst take out the cameras at the check point before the phones go out. Thomas forces the UV lights to turn off all across Red Hook. With The Mayor abandoning her, Justine is all alone as she asks for a gun  to deal with the full frontal assault. 

With Nora and Fet on the way, everyone starts shooting at the first wave. They need the get the UV lights back on at the power station. Abraham leaves the group to continue his search for the ancient book. In the middle of the night, Dutch realizes the lights have gone out and leaves with her gun. 

After Dutch Kisses Nikki goodbye, Justine figures out the vamps are talking to each other. At the power station, Nora takes care of Zach as Eph starts shooting. Kelly suddenly feels Zach's presence at the power station. 

As Justine gathers the community of Red Hook to fight, the second wave starts. As the  SWAT team falls back, ordinary citizens join in on the fight. Nora flips more switches as the transformers turn on. The UV Lights start buying the bloodsuckers at the checkpoint. 

After Kelly suddenly shows up, Fet manages to shoot and wound her. Losing his gun, Fet manages to put Kelly in a chokehold, the NYPD comes to the rescue and starts shooting at her. Thomas finally shows up at the hideout and reads Abraham's notes. 

During Abraham and Thomas' showdown Eph takes a shot and misses. Chasing after Eph, Thomas gets shot down by Abraham. As the people of Red Hook starts celebrating over their victory, Dutch is reunited with the rest of the group. 

As the crowd cheers over Justine's speech, Eph hugs Zach tightly, knowing he's in one piece.
