Taylor Swift Mocks Styles at Grammys [VIDEO]: Did Songstress' 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together' Performance Call Out One Direction Star?

Taylor Swift opened last night's 55th annual Grammy Awards with her hit "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" and used the spoken-word bridge of the tune to mock her ex-boyfriend, Harry Styles. During her eye-popping performance, Swift caught everyone's attention when she said: “So he calls me up and he’s like ‘I still love you (in a British accent).' And I’m like 'I’m sorry, I’m busy opening up the Grammys…and we are never getting back together!'” Take a look at the video below:

So if you are familiar with the song (which I am not, but I watched the video above so I'm catching up) you already know that the spoken-word bridge is easily turned into a chance for Swift to express her most recent troubles to her fans. The accent she throws onto her impression of an ex calling her is clearly British. Harry Styles is British. So, yes, she was mocking yet another one of her ex-boyfriends. But are we surprised? If there is one thing most people know about the pop singer, it is that she does things like this all of the time. Swift has an unfortunate past full of highly publicized relationships ending in heartbreak, leading her to write thinly veiled songs about whomever she was with.  It is her thing. We all have things. Like how George Clooney is all about the struggle in Darfur. Writing obvious songs about ex-boyfriends is Taylor Swift's Darfur. The best part about all of this is that these songs are all hits, so it works to her advantage!

Of course, some can argue that her impression last night was just a general "guy" or "dude" voice that somehow came off as British. I for one can understand this point, because, after all, it was live television. Anything can happen! In a similar incident in 2009, Swift clearly called out ex-boyfriend Joe Jonas during a Saturday Night Live appearance. Unfortunately, I cannot argue against that considering she said his name, which made it pretty apparent.

With last night's performance, Taylor thrust herself back into the realm of "boy chasing" or whatever the tabloids are calling it, which is unfortunate because she seems pretty sweet to me. But who even knows what the songstress is aiming for with actions like this. I just hope we can accept that she called out Harry Styles last night and move on to embrace the amazing .GIFs of her that are circulating around the Internet. Keep up the good "work" Taylor!
