E!'s 'The Royals' Season 2 PHOTO: Elizabeth Hurley/Helena, Merritt Patterson/Ophelia's Look!
Season 2 of The Royals has released a new behind-the-scenes photo before its November premiere on E!. Will there be more doses of scandal and drama with Queen Helena Henstridge (Elizabeth Hurley) when she finds Ophelia Pryce (Merritt Patterson)'s new look?
As we perviously mentioned, the show is set in modern-day England. The first season followed the lives of a fictional British Royal family that inhabits a world of opulence and regal tradition catering to any and every desire. This is also a world that comes with a price tag of duty, destiny, and intense public scrutiny.
Helena (Hurley) is the matriarch the British royal family, who struggles to keep her children away from the public eye. Twins Prince Liam (William Moseley) and Princess Eleanor (Alexandra Park) are caught off-guard when their older brother Robert is killed. The grieving father, King Simon (Vincent Regan), who was murdered in the first season finale, feared for the future of the monarchy.
According to the Bustle, during the Season 1 finale, Ophelia took up residence in New York City, in order to pursue her dreams of becoming a professional dancer. Though she wanted to run away with the prince, Liam decided to do the noble thing and let her go.
On her official Instagram account, Patterson teases her hair has gone platinum blonde. Could the new hair color mean that it's simply part of her costume or for some dance performance? What will Ophelia look like when she returns. The caption states, "Happy as a clam to be back on set as #Ophelia #TheRoyals"
As we mentioned before, Hurley hinted, "We have some outrageous things to do in season two. Even Queen Helena does some pretty startling things and I think that's part of the fun of the show, seeing what we can get away with and seeing how the audience takes it."
The Royals will return to E! for Season 2 on November 15, at 10pm.
The Royals: The Complete First Season DVD is in stores now.
