Get ready for an all-new era of The Biggest Loser. The series, which has been on the air for the last 16 seasons, is getting revamped for the upcoming 17th season in a big way. While we previously reported that Alison Sweeney was stepping down from her hosting duties after being with the show for 13 rotations, there was much speculation about who would be filling the Day of Our Lives star's shoes. However, the series might have just picked the most knowledgeable and best person to pick up the reigns from Sweeney, as their new emcee has been with the series since the beginning. Producers have decided to hand the hosting duties to Bob Harper, and we couldn't be more excited as fans.

According to a press release issue from the star via Yahoo News, the star confirmed his position as the host of the new cycle.

"I'm super excited about taking the position of host on The Biggest Loser," the star explained in the statement. "I've been with the show since season 1, so I know all of the ins and outs, and let me tell you, the weigh-in room is going to be a completely different ballgame with me at the steering wheel."

Us Weekly, is also reporting on the promotion news, saying that Bob will continue to "offer his training expertise to contestants at various points throughout the season." The site also explained that Harper will be responsible for helping the competitors "through all weigh-ins, challenges, and temptations."

Other stars that will be returning for the new episodes when filming start this month are trainers Jennifer Widerstrom and Dolvett Quince. The fitness gurus will have eight teams of two that will be battling head-to-head in an "exciting return to team-versus-team competition."
