Kevin Smith Reveals ‘Mallrats 2’ Filming Location in Exton Square Mall, Pennsylvania

Mallrats maintains a cult-classic status to this very day, despite having been released way back in 1995. When word broke a while back that writer-director Kevin Smith was working on a sequel, fans were pretty energized by the concept. With that, however, remained the question: Just what mall will the movie be filmed in? Well, we've finally got our answer. It's being reported that Smith will film Mallrats 2 in Exton, Pennsylvania at the Exton Square Mall.

Smith revealed the filming location via social media, releasing a photograph of him underneath the Exton Square Mall sign. Along with the photo he captioned, "We found our MALL, y'all! This January, the @extonsquaremall in Exton, PA will star in #Mallrats 2!"

Smith further noted that both Jay and Silent Bob are heading to Chester County come film time.

"Big thanks to financiers StarStream, who found the mall & the money! They're making this #MR2 dream come true!" Smith ended his caption.

As mentioned, Mallrats was released back in 1995. It starred an amazing cast of talent, from Jeremy London, Ben Affleck and Jason Lee to Shannen Doherty and Joey Lauren Adams. And of course, Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes.

So, Mallrats 2 – excited?

Is anyone else disappointed it's not being filmed in New Jersey? Just a thought.
