'The Flash' Season 2 Spoilers: Will Grant Gustin/Barry Allen Meet Tom Cavanagh/Harrison Wells?
With the first season cliffhanger leaving audiences hanging, the CW network has made a major casting announcement for Season 2 of The Flash. Will Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) have to face the return of his former mentor and enemy, Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh)?
In our first season recap, Barry Allen awoke from his coma, after having been struck by lightning. Given super-speed powers, Barry became part of a small group of friends, Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker), and Cisco Ramon (Carlos Valdes), who know his secret identity. They worked together against super villains, including Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller), and teamed up with the Arrow (Stephen Amell) to save Starling City. But they never realized their true enemy was lurking within their ranks, the Reverse-Flash (Cavanagh).
We mentioned before, Teddy Sears (Masters of Sex) actor will play the recurring role of Jay Garrick, the Silver Age Flash. Viewers caught a glimpse of Jay's iconic winged helmet in the first season finale. In his arrival, Jay is a mysterious figure who warns Barry Allen (Gustin) and his team at S.T.A.R. Labs about an impending danger that he alone cannot stop.
Stanton adds, "We've got other worlds. We've got other timelines. All I'm going to say is he's from one of those places."
Wells was an innocent man, unaware of his importance in the timeline, when the Reverse-Flash murdered his fiancee and stole his face. Will Barry somehow need Wells again in order to face this sophomore season's baddie, Zoom (voiced by Tony Todd), or save Caitlin Snow from her dark side as Killer Frost?
