WWE 'NXT' Preview 9/16/15: Bayley Returns, Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Tournament Continues

The September 16, 2015 episode of WWE's NXT will air on the WWE Network and will build to the NXT Takeover: Respect live special on October 7. Women's Champion Bayley returns on tonight's episode, and the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic tournament continues. We've got our full preview for you, so let's get right to it.

Bayley has not appeared on NXT programming since she captured the NXT Women's Championship from Sasha Banks in an emotional and spectacular match at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn in late August. But WWE has advertised the Hugster's return for tonight's broadcast. Moreover, we have already learned that Bayley and Sasha will main event Respect in a 30-minute Iron Woman match for the championship.

It cannot be understated how much of a refreshing step forward this is for women's wrestling and for wrestling in general. These two had arguably the best match of the entire SummerSlam weekend and completely set the world on fire with their bout. Now we know they will have proper time and a great stipulation for the rematch, so it doesn't even matter that it's a foregone conclusion that Bayley will retain the title.

So how does WWE build intrigue for this match? For starters, we need to see Sasha Banks fully exude her Boss persona. Yes, she had a Curtain Call moment with Bayley, Charlotte, and Becky Lynch at Takeover: Brooklyn, but they could even use that to their advantage. Sasha could say she underestimated Bayley and has come to respect her after their match, but that doesn't change anything else. She still wants to rip Bayley apart and get her title back by any means necessary.

Of course, it makes sense that Bayley retains the title. It's unlikely that WWE hot potatoes the title back to Sasha after that emotional victory, especially because the Boss is fully entrenched on the main roster and putting on great matches on Raw and SmackDown.

The other big plot point for tonight's show is the continuation of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic tournament. To catch you up, here are the results from Round 1, which aired both on NXT and during house shows:

Enzo Amore and Big Cass defeated Angelo Dawkins and Sawyer Fulton

Finn Balor and Samoa Joe defeated The Lucha Dragons

The Vaudevillains defeated Wesley Blake and Buddy Murphy

Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder defeated Tucker Knight and Elias Samson

The Hype Bros (Zack Ryder and Mojo Rawley) defeated Marcus Louis and Alexander Wolfe

Jason Jordan and Chad Gable defeated Neville and Solomon Crowe

Rhyno and Baron Corbin defeated The Ascension

Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa defeated Tyler Breeze and Bull Dempsey

So for Round 2, we have the following matchups:

Enzo Amore and Big Cass vs. Finn Balor and Samoa Joe

The Vaudevillains vs. Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder

The Hype Bros vs. Jason Jordan and Chad Gable

Rhyno and Baron Corbin vs. Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa

We have some interesting matches in the second round, and we have six more matches to go before we hit the finals on October 7 at NXT Takeover: Respect.
