Kendall Jenner Rock The Vote PSA: 'KUWTK' Star, Supermodel Encourages Voting
Kendall Jenner is getting everyone to rock the vote, as the supermodel encourages voting in a new historical PSA. The reality starlet stars in the Public Service Announcement, presented by Independent Journal, where she encourages all those who are eligible to vote to go out and participate in the upcoming 2016 Presidential election.
The theme of the PSA is women’s history, as the model takes us back to remind us of those who suffered in times where voting was more gender-specific.
"Every day, we vote. We're able to express our opinions online with links and hashtags. But when it comes to the right to vote, it always hasn't been that easy, especially for women,” Jenner says while dressed in colonial feminine clothing.
"Susan B. Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton started the National Women's Suffrage Association in 1869. Suffragettes took the fight nationwide, starting state-by-state campaigns pushing for women's rights to vote,” she continues as she strips her ensemble down, representing a timeline of events with women’s rights in voting.
Towards the end of the PSA, Jenner is wearing her normal look from present time, explaining, "Because of suffragettes and their battle, gender doesn't matter. But your vote always can. I'm Kendall Jenner. I'm 19 and I'm here to rock the vote."
Jenner doesn’t reveal who exactly she seems to be voting for in the upcoming election, but she is making sure all eligible voters take the time to be educated about the candidates, and use their advantage to control who leads the country after President Obama’s term.
Her older sister, Kim Kardashian, has already shown her support for Hillary Clinton, as the two took a selfie at a conference, along with Kanye West photobombing it in the background. Momager Kris Jenner has also shown her support for the female democratic candidate in the past, but there’s no word on any of her other daughters’ views on politics.
