John Boehner Cries While Pope Addresses Congress? Speaker of House Can't Hold Back Tears
God is literally in the house, people. The Pope is in town, and the world is going crazy. Pope Francis officially landed on United States. territory this week, with President Barack Obama and family greeting him as he landed. On Thursday, the Pope addressed Congress and one unsurprising thing happened: Speaker of the House John Boehner cried.
Of course, this isn't the first time we've seen Boehner cry; though, in this case, it's probably not the best decision to mock him. Let's be real- having his Holiness so close is probably something very overwhelming for Catholics. And if you're an atheist or an agnostic (which is basically a "keeping it safe" atheist), well, it's still pretty cool,
Believer or not, the fact here is that Boehner cried and now we're letting you know about it.
So, you're welcome?
Take a look at Pope Francis in front of Congress below, and the tears that followed:
It looks as if it was that "land of the free, home of the brave" line that really got to Mr. Speaker.
As a sidebar, has anyone noticed that Vice President Joe Biden and Speaker of the House John Boehner appearing to be "sitting" on the shoulders of Pope Francis is sort of an angel v. devil sort of thing?
Just a thought.
