Tyrese High School Surprise, Singer Announces 'WE Day' at Alma Mater

Tyrese recently made a surprise appearance at his former high school where the singer announcing "WE Day" to students at his alma mater. The Furious 8 singer headed over to Alain LeRoy Locke College Preparatory Academy in Southern California during his busy schedule and talked to the students about the movement. Tyrese encouraged them all to take part in the program, which brings sponsors, such as Microsoft, Allstate and more together to take action on local and global issues in their communities. The sponsors will be bringing together at least 16,00 students and faculty members to participate in the movement and help the youth to change the world.

During his speech to the packed gymnasium of students, the Black Rose singer spoke out about the movement and his involvement with it. “It makes me proud to be a part of the WE Day movement, to inspire and be inspired by the youth leading the change we need to see. I attended and spoke at WE Day in Illinois last spring and was blown away by the energy and passion in the room. Every single person at WE Day has done something to make an impact in their own life and in the lives around them. These young people are standing up and saying ‘I will be the change for a better tomorrow’ and I can’t wait for the students from my hometown and my former high school to experience the energy of WE Day,” he told the students.
The website for WE Day says that it will “offer young people the tools and the inspiration to take social action, empower others and transform lives—including their own.” Not only are there programs that can occur inside of schools, but there are also going to be live concerts that people can go to in order to kickstart their inspiration.
