Jill & Jessa Duggar '19 Kids & Counting' Spinoff Announced for TLC Specials
Did you miss them? Well, have no fear because the 19 Kids and Counting gang is back and ready to make their comeback to the TV world. That's right, despite all the drama that has gone on over the last couple of months, including the cancellation of their TV show, Josh Duggar's molestation scandal and then subsequent Ashley Madison cheating controversy, the Duggar family has prevailed and will be getting a series of specials to air on their home network in the coming months. The specials will follow two of the fan favorite girls, and victims of Josh's molestation, Jessa and Jill Duggar, as they lead their separate married lives.
According to Radar Online, the specials will be revolving around the two stars, as they continue to embark on the new chapter of their lives, being new wives and mothers.
The network released a statement earlier today where Executive Vice President Nancy Daniels talked about what, exactly, would be featured in the specials.
"What we will be following in these special is Jessa preparing for her first child," Daniels explained in the statement. "And we'll be watching Jill preparing to make a major move to Center America with her family, which we know is something our audiences will be interested in."
The viewers of the series were disappointed at the time of the cancellation, as they thought they wouldn't be seeing how Jessa was dealing with her first pregnancy. The starlet announced that she was having her first child with husband Ben Seewald a few weeks before TLC announced they were pulling the plug on the series.
However, according to E! News, fans can rejoice as they will be seeing all the celebration and drama unfold as Jessa prepares to welcome her bundle of joy into the world, and Jill moves to South America with husband Derick Dillard and baby Israel.
"We know that our audience is really excited about what's been going on with Jill and Jessa as they move into young adulthood," Daniels stated, according to Today. "Now they're both at the precipice of big changes. With what was happening in their lives in the next few months, it felt like now is the time (for the specials), and we got going pretty quickly."
