'Black-ish' Star Anthony Anderson's Wife Alvina Files for Divorce After 20 Years of Marriage
MStars News has learned that Black-ish star, Anthony Anderson's wife, Alvina filed for divorce after 20 years of marriage. According to Hollywood Take, Alvina claimed "irreconcilable differences" as the reason behind their split.
After the news of their breakup, Anthony didn't make any comments. Alvina wasn't present during her soon-to-be ex-husband's big night at Sunday's Emmy Awards, but their son, Nathan was present instead to walk the red carpet with his dad.
Anthony was nominated for Best Lead Actor in a Comedy. Transparent's Jeffrey Tambor, took that win.
Before everyone learned about the Anderson's split, the actor posted a message on Instagram that said: "I love my family, I love my job, I love my life. THAT is why I am successful."
Alvina is wanting joint legal custody but primary physical custody of their son Nathan, 15. She has agreed to allow her estranged husband, "reasonable visitation" of Nathan if she wins physical custody. Anthony and Alvina were high school sweethearts. The former couple tied the knot in 1995 and they also have an older daughter, Kyla, 19.
Anthony's soon-to-be ex-wife is also wanting spousal support from the divorce. Details on how much she will receive is currently up in the air, because it's unclear if the couple had a prenup.
According to People, the former lovebirds separated back on April 1, 2014. The divorce was filed on Sept. 21. Since the split was filed back in 2014, Alvina may not receive any of Anthony's earnings after that date, including his earnings from his hit show, Black-ish.
US Magazine claims the last time Anthony and his estranged wife were spotted together at an event was February 2014. Hopefully, their divorce doesn't get ugly.
