'Gotham' Season 2 Ep 2 Spoilers: Twitter Reacts Cameron Monaghan, Zabryna Guevara/Sarah Essen!
Season 2 of the Batman prequel series, Gotham, continues on Fox. In last night's Episode 2, while Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) was away, Twitter had lots to say about Jerome Velaska (Cameron Monaghan)'s shocking confrontation with Sarah Essen (Zabryna Guevara).
In our previous recap, after being fried from the force, Jim knew the only way back was to call in a favor from Penguin. While Barbara (Erin Richards) made herself at home at Arkham Asylum, Theo Galavan (James Frain) was just at the beginning stages of his sinister plot. After breaking into the caves, Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) discovered his father's letter waiting for him. Bruce and Jim are at a crossroads as they will earn their true calling.
In our recent recap, following Theo's orders, the Maniax launched their first strikes against the city. Because of their last relationship, Barbara lured Jim away from precinct before Jerome led another attack. After killing every other officer in the precinct, Jerome and Sarah played their own mid game. By the time Jim returned, he found Sarah dying on the floor.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Guevara describes her final scene, "Cameron's a super-intense actor - a lovely guy, but it's not hard to imagine the fear that [Jerome] can instill in someone. At the same time, there's a great sense of fortitude you get from playing a character who has developed a strong spine - in playing the scene, I approached it in the same way I do any scene: What do I want? What am I trying to affect in the other person, and that was pretty easy because Cameron really committed in a big way."
In the DC Universe, Sarah Essen is murdered by The Joker in No Man's Land. Is Jerome really the clown prince of crime?
