Let's take a look at our nominees for the #MTBuzzys:

DAVID OYELOWO, SELMA – THE OSCARS

If you saw Selma this past year then you must realize that David Oyelowo received perhaps one of the worst snubs in award show history. Perfectly portraying Martin Luther King Jr., Oyelowo's ability to make the audience feel as if they were part of the film was rather astounding. Unfortunately it wasn't enough for the Academy to recognize even with a nomination. #WTF?

GINA RODRIGUEZ, JANE THE VIRGIN – EMMY AWARDS

Nearly everyone is talking about Jane the Virgin and Gina Rodriguez... except for the Emmys, apparently. Despite having won the Golden Globe for her performance, Rodriguez was snubbed for an Emmy. Which, well, was a bummer.

NICKI MINAJ, "ANACONDA" – MTV VMAs

Oh boy, oh boy, do NOT get on Nicki Minaj's bad side. After being snubbed by the MTV VMAs for a nomination Minaj went on a Twitter rant that got her into a little mix with Ms. I'm On Top Of The World (Taylor Swift). Of course, that was quickly settled, but when Minaj did win a VMA at this year's show, she wasted no time in calling out someone who appeared to be putting her on blast the week prior—host Miley Cyrus.

SERENA WILLIAMS, ATHLETE OF THE YEAR – ESPYs

Tennis star Serena Williams was surrounded by competition at this year's ESPYs. And no matter who was chosen for the award our guess is the word "snub" would have still been tossed around. Which brings up the question: Are award shows just about ratings?
