Chicago Bulls' Derrick Rose Says Rape Accuser Consented to Group Sex, is Mad Over Sex Toy
After Chicago Bulls' star point guard, Derrick Rose, was falsely accused of gang raping an ex-girlfriend, he finally opened up about the situation. He claims the rape accuser consented to group sex on multiple occasions along with the night of the allegation. Rose also said that the rape accuser was angry over not being compensated for a sex toy.
To back up a bit, in late August of this year, a woman only known as "Jane Doe" filed a lawsuit against Derrick Rose claiming that he and two of his friends drugged and gang raped her in her apartment in Beverly Hills, CA back in August of 2013.
Soon after, Rose confidently denied the rape accusations, "I feel like I'm on the right track as far as who I want to be at, in my life and the direction I want to go," he said. "I just feel like when you're that focused, people try to take you down. I'm very confident that I will be proven innocent."
According to the lawsuit as reported by Gawker, Rose and his two friends put some kind of drug in her drink while she was at a home in Beverly Hills, where Derrick Rose was living at the time. A female friend of the accuser was concerned about her as she became incapacitated; the friend then put her in a cab so she could get home.
The lawsuit also says that Rose and his two friends went to the accuser's apartment early the next morning. They entered through an unlocked door and took turns raping her. But later, when she came to, she didn't call the police. This was allegedly because she was "ashamed and embarrassed by what had happened to her" and she didn't want her conservative family to find out, as per the lawsuit.
Now, according to Derrick Rose's legal response as reported by DeadSpin, Rose's attorney, Lawyer Mark Baute, says the woman consented to group sex on several occasions: "consented to sexual interaction with more than one co-defendant on more than one occasion and consented to sexual interactions on the day in question." Rose also claims that the accuser invited them to her apartment, "and invited the defendants to her apartment and buzzed them in." She also consented to "additional group activities later that evening."
Rose also claims that the accuser became upset with him and his two friends after he refused to compensate her for a sex toy that was used on the night of the accusation. He claims the accuser became angrier when he stopped responding to text messages from her shortly after.
