WWE 'Live from MSG' Results: Brock Lesnar vs. Big Show, John Cena vs. Seth Rollins Steel Cage
The special WWE Network exclusive house show event, Live from MSG, aired Saturday night from the heart of New York City, and the marquee matchup was Brock Lesnar vs. Big Show. The main event pit John Cena against Seth Rollins inside a steel cage for the United States Championship. We've got the full results of the show below, so let's get right to it.
The show begins with Sheamus and Rusev vs. Randy Orton and Dolph Ziggler. This was originally supposed to be two separate matches: Ziggler vs. Rusev and Orton vs. Sheamus, but we have a tag team match to kick things off. Orton and Sheamus earn the win when The Viper dodges a Brogue Kick attempt. Ziggler tags The Celtic Warrior with a superkick, and Orton follows up with an RKO for the pin.
After the match, Rusev screams at Sheamus for costing them the match and claims he could have won it by himself. He says Sheamus is useless and starts to talk to Lana, but Mr. Money in the Bank hits him with a Brogue Kick. He grabs the microphone and tells Rusev to kiss his arse.
We see a recap of the feud between Kane and Seth Rollins. Renee Young interviews Kane, who says tonight will be a memorable night.
Neville defeats Stardust with the Red Arrow.
Renee Young interviews Paul Heyman, who gets on her case for messing up his intro. He welcomes everyone to Madison Square Garden and talks about the history of the building. He then insults Big Show and says it's like the Boston Celtics invading the town. But tonight, his client, Brock Lesnar, will be the home team and take Big Show to Suplex City.
Team Bella defeats Team PCB when Paige goes for a tag to Charlotte and Becky Lynch, who both jump off the apron. Nikki Bella drops a stunned Paige with the Rack Attack for the victory. Paige had tagged herself in prior to this as she argued with Charlotte. The women depart, and an angry Paige complains that her friends abandoned her, something she would never do.
Chris Jericho welcomes everyone to Madison Square Garden. He says tonight is the 25th anniversary of his career in the wrestling business. He talks about his first opponent, Lance Storm, who is in the building tonight. He mentions his father, the Hall of Fame hockey player, who played in the Garden so many times over the years. He thanks the fans for all of their support and says no matter what happens tonight, he'll make sure 20,000 people get drunk.
Kevin Owens retains his Intercontinental Championship against Jericho when Y2J goes for the Walls of Jericho, but Owens pokes his eye and rolls him up for the pin.
The Dudley Boyz defeat The New Day by disqualification when Xavier Woods breaks up a pin attempt after The Dudleyz hit a 3D. Therefore, The New Day retain the WWE Tag Team Championship. By the way, The New Day cut an amazing promo at the beginning of this match.
After the bell, The New Day attack The Dudley Boyz and set up a table. Xavier plays Taps on the trombone as Big E prepares to put D-Von Dudley through the table. Bubba Ray Dudley recovers and they toss Big E and Kofi Kingston out of the ring. Xavier tries to escape, but the Dudleys put him through a table.
Brock Lesnar completely destroys The Big Show. The giant fights off the Beast for a bit and delivers three chokeslams, but he only gets a two count. Lesnar delivers multiple German suplexes and then finishes him with an F5. After the bell, Lesnar starts to leave but sees that Big Show is stirring. He delivers another German suplex and then plants him with another F5.
John Cena retains the WWE United States Championship against Seth Rollins in a steel cage match. Rollins has Cena down and tries to escape the cage, but The Demon Kane comes out and forces Rollins to climb back in the ring. He tries a splash off the top of the cage, but Cena dodges, hits an Attitude Adjustment, and pins the WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Cena leaves after the bell, and The Demon Kane enters the ring. He chokeslams Rollins and drops him with a Tombstone Piledriver to end the show.
