Danica McKellar Divorce: Winnie Cooper from 'The Wonder Years' is Officially Divorced from Husband Mike Verta
Winnie Cooper is single again. 38-year-old Danica McKellar, who played Winnie on The Wonder Years is officially divorced from husband of three years Mike Verta according to TMZ.
That's right boys, your dream girl is back on the market. McKellar first filed for divorce back in June citing irreconcilable differences. The couple has a two-year-old son, Draco, and according to TMZ, the custody and support agreement is laid out in their pre-nup agreement. The couple signed the pre-nup back in 2009, and the judge ruled it was still valid.
Following the announcement in June, McKellar told TMZ, "I am saddened by the end of my marriage to Mike Verta...However, we are committed to raising our son together and we are focused on remaining the best parents we can be."
Despite being married just three years, the couple had been together since 2001 when they began dating. After the announcement was made public back in June, McKellar wrote on her website, "The end of a marriage has got to be one of the saddest events one can experience - I've heard that the pain is second only to an actual death in the family, and that sounds about right"
McKellar went on to say, "However, I am so grateful that my relationship with my ex, Mike Verta, has been nothing but amicable, and that this process seems like it will be as smooth as can be hoped for."
McKellar is best known for her starring role on The Wonder Years, but she has stayed busy in recent years appearing in several episodes of How I Met Your Mother and The Big Bang Theory. She also has written three best-selling books.
