Fox continues Season 2 of the Batman prequel series, Gotham. In Episode 5, are detective Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) and his love Leslie Thompkins (Morena Baccarin) are in a danger of learning the meaning behind  Theo Galavan (James Frain)'s Scarification?

Thinking of his kidnapped mother, Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor) wants to be Theo's friend but Theo refuses. Tigress (Jessica Lucas) opens the crate and out comes an executive of Wayne Enterprises. Theo turns slightly as Tigress cuts away at him.

Jim, Captain Nathaniel Barnes (Michael Chiklis), and Harvey Bullock (Donal Logue) lead the strike force inside a stash-out. Taking away the two million dollars, they may end up hurting Penguin. Penguin ends up beating the messenger after being told that his cash-out has been robbed by the police.

While the strike force goes on another raid, Leslie meets with Jim for date night. Edward Nygma (Corey Michael Smith) wants to double with Leslie, Jim, and Kristen Kringle (Chelsea Spack). Theo then asks Jim to endorse him as Mayor but Gordon refuses.

Tigress shows up at Penguin's palace, witnessing him argue with Butch. She has orders for Penguin to burn a few places to the ground. Selina Kyle (Camren Bicondova) has a talk with Butch (Drew Powell), who wants an introduction to the Pike brothers.  Bridget (Michelle Veintimilla) opens the door and is kicked around as Butch offers the Pikes a job.

Selina meets up with her old friend and tells Bridget to be strong. During a raid, Jim and Barnes end up chasing a runner, shooting a Pike brother down, and blowing him up. During the double night, Leslie notices Nygma is acting very cool as he toasts to their friendship. With a Pike brother down, Bridget is forced to step and take his place.

After placing the bomb, Bridget places the eyeball at the scanner, and steals the knife. During the explosion, Bridget ends up burning her leg. With 5 locations burnet down, Barnes and Jim have to find a pattern. Bridget then finds a tank and gas mask to wear.

Selina warns Bridget that she might be killed, but she's excited by it. Due to their lost mothers, Selina is alone and Bridget is a slave. Penguin has a knife that has connections to the Wayne family. He learns the knife was used in a war between the Elliotts, the DuMas, and the Waynes. The DuMas family have left and changed their name to Galavan.

Jim discovers the buildings were owned by Wayne Enterprises and now has a place to stakeout. Penguin wants Butch to infiltrate Theo and rescue his mother. To sell the disguise, Penguin chops off Butch's hand.

During their stakeout, Bullock spots the Pikes arriving in their fan. Wearing her Firefly outfit, Bridget faces the police as the her brothers leave her. Bridget sprays her flamethrower around and ends up burning a strike force member. Selina then helps Bridget make an escape.

Barnes reveals the bad news; their team member is dead and a cop killer is on the loose. Jim makes a deal with Theo to bend the rules and get the bad guys. Theo returns home and finds a hooded figure at his home.

The next plan on the agenda is watch Bruce Wayne die.
