Kanye West Promises 'New Sh*t' in 'A Couple of Months,' Referring to Alleged G.O.O.D. Music Follow-up or New Solo Work?
Kanye West has been making the most of his European tour. He's dissed corporations and Justin Timberlake, howled against sound mixers and now, he's dropping hints about a brand new Yeezy album.
During his show in Paris, West informed the crowd that he will be "back in a couple of months" with his "new sh*t."
What this statement refers to is unclear. It could be a reference to the long-awaited follow-up to his G.O.O.D. Music clique's Cruel Summer.
John Legend, Big Sean and Malik Yusef have all confirmed working on new tracks and there is speculation that the album will be called Cruel Winter. However, the timing of the statement brings the idea of a Cruel Winter release into question. Winter is coming to an end, after all.
The outburst may refer to a rumored sixth solo album from West. Earlier this month, a screenshot of an iTunes tracklist and several song titles leaked online. If the screenshot is real, West's upcoming album will be called Rich Black American and will feature guest spots from Frank Ocean, Pusha T, Beyoncé,Skrillex, 2 Chainz and Florence Welch. Neither Def Jam nor Kanye have confirmed this.
If West is talking about a new solo ablum, it will be his first since 2010's critical and commercial smash hit, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.
Kanye West is slated to headline the Governors Ball Music Festival this summer but it remains to be seen if Ye will be performing his classics or touring in support of a brand new album by then.
