Sensational singer The Weeknd dodged a bullet and will not be going to jail after hitting a cop. According to TMZ, the Canada native, whose real name is Abel Makkonen Tesfaye, pleaded no contest for hitting a Vegas cop and doesn't have to spend a day behind bars as long as he stays out of trouble.

The "I Can't Feel My Face" singer entered a plea in Sin City earlier this week, for the arrest that happened back in January. The 25-year-old, whose's now dating American-Palestinian-Dutch model, Bella Hadid, also had to pay $1,000 to the cop he hurt.

The Weeknd also has to complete anger management classes and undergo an alcohol assessment. He will have do 50 hours of community service that will be scheduled with a non-profit group in Canada, where he's from. If Weeknd passes all of his requirements, his case will be thrown out.

Weeknd's arrest stemmed from a fight at the Cromwell Hotel back in January. The punch that would land him in jail happened when cops tried to break up the fight, pulling the angered singer into the elevator where he then hit the officer in the head. At the time of his arrest the singer was sent to jail for "battery of a protected person."

After he reached bail, Weeknd quickly left Las Vegas. MStars News wonders what The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' Yolanda Foster has to say about her daughter's new man? Hopefully he's past won't interfere with his new found love.
