Beyonce’s High School Love, Lyndell Locke, Says First Kiss Was During Brian McKnight Concert

Before Jay Z, Beyonce was "Crazy in Love" for her high school sweetheart, Lyndell Locke. In the unauthorized biography, Becoming Beyonce, the singer's first boyfriend is reflecting on the fun times they shared, including their first kiss, which was at a Brian McKnight concert.

According to Bossip, Locke told biographer, J. Randy Taraborrelli, that Beyonce was a great kisser. "We shared our first kiss at a Brian McKnight concert when Bey was 13. She was a little southern belle. She was an awesome kisser. We would hang out and do normal boyfriend-girlfriend things, although I was never allowed to stay over."

Despite hanging out and doing normal things as a teenage couple, Beyonce wasn't just the ordinary girlfriend. Locke claimed this ex was a diva right from the start. "She was focused and knew what she wanted," The Houston chef admitted, "She'd started singing when she was five and her parents supported her. There was a Beyonce train on the fast track to fame and you were either on it or off it. Some people fell off the train and others jumped."

Looking back, Locke probably regrets some of his actions when it came to dating Queen Bey for over 9 years. He admitted that their breakup was caused by him cheating on her. Locke claimed that Beyonce didn't believe in having sex before saying "I Do." Being impatient, Locke found someone else to hit a home run on.

"Beyonce was the most beautiful woman I'd ever known, and she dumped me because I cheated on her. She'd still be mine if I hadn't cheated on her," the man who had Beyonce before Jay Z said.

During a past interview with Entertainment Tonight, Locke told the site that the former couple met through Kelly Rowland. Locke and Kelly were in the same youth group at church. Locke immediately broke up with one of his girlfriends at 13 to get Beyonce's phone number.

Locke planned on marrying Beyonce, but some insecurities set in when Beyonce's fame started rising, and he cheated he claimed that he was "young and dumb." All-in-all, Locke believed that he'd be the man in Beyonce's life. "In my head we were going to get back together." He also thought that Jay Z would've messed up too, but in the end she's still married to the rapper.

“I think people will be surprised that Beyonce’s only had two relationships in her life,” Taraborrelli said. “Her present husband, Jay Z of course, and Lyndell Locke.”

The author backed up Locke’s story that he dated Beyonce for 10 years with photos that only Locke had shared. The series of snapshots were moments that a lot of people would probably never have a chance to see if it wasn’t for her high school sweetheart.

“He’s a character. People love reading about him in this book,” the author claimed.
