Bette Midler Says 'Hocus Pocus' Sequel is on Hold Because Film is Struggling to Find a Virgin
The witches of Salem, Massachusetts are back on the hunt again, and they are struggling to find a virgin to play with. According to US Magazine, the hit 1993 film, Hocus Pocus is currently on hold for a sequel because they can't find a virgin, reports the the head witch in charge, Bette Midler, who is also known as Winifred Sanderson of the Sanderson sisters in the movie.
On Monday, the actress took to Twitter to update fans on the delay, and it probably dampened a lot of Hocus Pocus fans' spirits. In the tweet, Midler wrote: "@kathynajimy .@SJP Breaking news!! SEQUEL DELAYED!!@Disney having trouble finding a virgin! #HocusPocus."
The 69-year-old's other sisters in the film included Kathy Najimy (Mary Sanderson), and Sarah Jessica Parker (Sarah Sanderson). Back in 1993, the Sanderson sisters hit song, "I Put A Spell On You" had the entire town of Salem under their witch magic when they were resurrected by a virgin named Max (Omri Katz) after he lit a candle at their home that was transformed into a museum.
MStars News wants to know, are you a Hocus Pocus fan? If so, would you play the virgin role if they had an open casting call? What's your favorite part of the film? Ours would have to be when Sarah Sanderson steps on the "black river," aka the road and yells, "tis firm!"
Please hurry with that sequel!
