'The Flash' Season 2 Ep 5 Spoilers: Will Grant Gustin's Barry Allen Meet Wally West's Father?

The CW network continues with Season 2 of The Flash. In the upcoming Episode 5, will Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) discover who could be the possible father of the DC Comics superhero, Kid Flash aka Wally West (Keiynan Lonsdale)?

In our previous recap, Lisa (Peyton List) went to Cisco (Carlos Valdes) because she knew her brother was in trouble. Forced to work with his father, Leonard Snart had to pull off a heist with Lewis Snart (Michael Ironside). Barry joined the team because Cisco found a bomb planted inside Lisa. After Cisco disarmed the bomb, Captain Cold made the choice of freezing his own father to death. After the construction of the speed cannon, Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh) made his sudden arrival through the wormhole.

In our recent recap, the Flash found himself teaming up with the new Firestorm as Jax (Franz Drameh) merged with Martin Stein (Victor Garber). Even though Iris discovered her mother, Francine (Vanessa Williams), was telling the truth, she is dying; they share a secret. Joe West (Jesse L. Martin) has a son that he never knew about. After suddenly being attacked by King Shark, the scarlet speedster was rescued by Harrison Wells.

In an interview with IGN, executive producer Andrew Kreisberg confirmed Wally West (Keiynan Lonsdale) is Joe West's long lost son and Iris West's brother, ""Iris is now in the position that Barry was in last year - she's keeping a secret to protect somebody and she's going to find that, for all of her anger at Barry and Joe from last year, keeping this secret is not going to be so easy and it's going to be weighing on her before she finally decides to take some action in an upcoming episode."

Kreisberg adds, "We always hated on TV shows that it's year two and somebody's like, 'Well, Cousin John's coming!' And it's like, 'Oh, good ol' Cousin John!' who no one ever mentioned before. It was always weird. The notion that they don't know Wally was sort of where that came from and then that was the idea that Francine was still alive and then that whole storyline."

The Flash continues Season 2 on the CW Tuesdays at 8pm.
