Susan Boyle A Movie Star? Scottish Singer To Make Film Debut
Susan Boyle is set to make her film debut in an upcoming holiday period piece "The Christmas Candle."
The Scottish singer who came to fame via her "Britain's Got Talent" audition rendition of "I Dreamed a Dream" will now work alongside Samantha Barks, who played Eponine in the 2012 big-budget Hollywood rendition of the Les Miserables musical.
The Christmas Candle is based on a Max Lucado novella of the same name and tells the story of a village in the 1890s that begins to have its prayers answered by mystical candles.
"Everyone on set is a delight to work with and it's a fantastic experience to be part of the team," Boyle said in a statement.
"I'm really enjoying getting dressed in the period costumes and stepping back in time and although it's very cold filming on location, I'm wearing long johns under my bustle," she added.
The statement did not clarify what role Boyle or Barks would play.
