Prince Peforms 'Screwdriver' and 'Bambi' on 'Fallon': Rocker Throws Guitar After Performing on 'Late Night' [VIDEO]

Music legend Prince made a rare TV appearance Friday night in front of NBC's "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" audience. The singer performed his new song "Screwdriver" and then reportedly smashed a guitar from Roots band member "Captain" Kirk Douglas.

The mere fact that Prince stopped by to perform two songs was big enough. Now, word is, the rocker made the night even more memorable. According to Roots rapper Black Thought, Prince refused to sign a guitar and threw it into the air after performing the song "Bambi."

Before he started throwing instruments, Jimmy Fallon introduced Prince as, "one of the most legendary and influential musicians of all time." Prince went on to perform "Screwdriver" with his all-girl backup band 3rd Eye Girl, from his album released just last month.

For his second performance of the night Prince performed "Bambi" from his 1979 album Prince. Then according to the Roots' Black Though on Twitter, Prince slammed their band's guitar on stage.

"#Prince borrows @kirklloyd guitar, uses during @LateNightJimmy show, refuses to autograph THEN slams it to floor in the end! #rockgodstatus"

Watch the video below of Prince's performance of "Bambi." Towards the end of the video you will notice Prince throw the guitar in the air and walk off the stage immediately after performing.

Jimmy Fallon also announced Prince will be starting a West Coast tour in mid-April. There have yet to be any more details announced surrounding the tour, but if you want to check out a photo of the damage done to Kirk Douglas' guitar you can see it on his Twitter page.

The Roots seemed to be impressed with Prince's rock star status, but if that were my guitar I would be upset. First he doesn't sign it, then he breaks it? I would expect Prince to pay me back, rock star or not.

Are you Prince fans on the West Coast psyched to see the music legend on tour in April? What did you think of his performance Friday night on "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon"?
