'Batman' Hands Over Suspect to Police in UK: Identity Unknown of 'Heroic' Man Dressed as 60's TV Version of 'Batman' [PHOTO]
A man dressed as the 60's version of Batman caught a wanted man and brought him to police. Police in England say a 27-year-old suspect was handed over to them by a guy dressed up as the caped crusader. The masked man dropped the suspect off at the Trafalgar House Police Station during the early hours of Feb. 25.
The humorous part of the story is that the man dressed as Batman chose to dress as the 60's TV Batman, instead of the much more intimidating Christian Bale, "Dark Knight" version. The man dressed as Batman handed over the criminal and left without anyone ever even knowing his name.
According to a West Yorkshire police spokesman, "The person who brought the wanted man into the station was dressed in a full Batman outfit. His identity, however, remains unknown."
The suspect handed over to police was arrested for suspicion of burglary, fraud, and breaching a court order. According to The Guardian, the suspect was charged with handling stolen goods and fraud-related offences. He is due to appear at Bradford magistrates court March 8.
By the looks of the picture, the gentleman dressed as Batman is wearing the full Batman costume. He even looks to have the Batman mask, although it does look like his face is blurred out in the photo.
I'm sure police were happy with the help Batman provided, but I'm not sure how it looks that a guy dressed in a bad Batman costume was able to apprehend a suspect before police. The guy doesn't even have a utility belt on, so I'm guessing he captured the suspect with his bare hands. Maybe police in the UK should build a bat signal like in the movies so they can enlist this man's help again in the future.
