Eminem New Album Hype 2016: Redman Praise Inspires Collaboration, Rare Shady 45 Tease [Listen]
During a recent interview with Redman on Sirius XM's popular hip-hop channel Shady 45, infamous "Rap God" Eminem made a surprise call to praise the former Def Squad emcee.
In a rather rare moment of nostalgia, the MMLP2 superstar reminisces about being such a huge fan of the Reggie rapper:
"I was cleaning out my closet, pun intended, and ran across this old picture and sh*t. I was like, 'What the f*ck is... oh sh*t.' I realized, the first time I had ever went to New York, we actually, we went to New York and then went to Jersey, me and Bizarre went to record with the Outsidaz and somehow, I can't remember who we was in the car with, but I know Pace [Won] was with us and we had actually ended up stopping by your house. So I'm like, 'Oh, sh*t. That's the picture I took out the back window of your house on some fan sh*t.' It was like, 'Holy sh*t. That's Redman's house.'"
Pretty cool story, right?
Redman also expressed his utter awe of the 43-year-old Detroit native's influence on the industry:
"You're one of my favorite artists, too... Keep doing what you're doing and you've got my support over here, brother" (via HipHopDX).
Remember, the "8 Mile" lyricist deemed the "How High" hypeman an "idol" on the hit Eminem Show track, "Til I Collapse" -
Redman will release a new album soon entitled Mudface (November 13). But what about Shady?
Several loyal #Stans hope that he'll finally debut some fresh beats in 2016 - maybe even an epic collaboration with one of his childhood idols (AND fellow hometown buddy Big Sean)?
