In our MStars News interview, the From Dusk Till Dawn writer/director spoke about the upcoming Director's Chair episode and his guest, "It's a fun show! The best one's coming up! It's the one I do with Sylvester Stallone! It's frigging awesome! He's so inspirational! People are really going to like that one! It's really surprising."
4) I Never Want To Get In A Fight With Mr. T!
Stallone revealed he was actually taking punches to the face when while directing the boxing scenes. You don't want to be on the receiving end when Mr. T (Rocky III) comes right right at you. The worst was when Dolph Lundgren (Masters of the Universe) sent him to his hospital. He refused to look at his shoulder when Hulk Hogan jumped and landed on him. Stallone described the experience as being hit "by a truck."
3) Less Is Indeed More!
Hollywood had the script for Rambo: First Blood in its backlot for many years. After spending so money on the screenwriters, the studio executives weren't so happy to hear Stallone wanted to rewrite the script. Stallone had an interesting idea; John Rambo should be speaking less and not describing everything he does. That was pretty funny watching Rodriguez and Stallone imitating the scene where Rambo says, "North!"
2) I'm Really Excited For Creed!
Stallone mentioned the inspiration for Rocky came from myth and legend. Each sequel represented a specific year, a major turning point, in Rocky's career. We're not the same person as we once were a year ago. It makes me anxious to see how the upcoming Creed movie follows the same themes.
1) Never Give Up On Your Dreams!
Stallone kept the drive going when his theater career failed and directors didn't see him as the lead. Even though Rocky was shot on the fly, Stallone refused to let the producers cut an integral scene to the plot. Fighting for the emotional scene, Stallone performed under pressure and gave everything he got in one take.
Creed arrives in theaters on November 25, 2015.
