E!'s 'The Royals' Recap: Elizabeth Hurley's 'It Is Not, Nor It Cannot Come To Good'
E! airs the highly anticipated premiere of Season 2 of The Royals. In Episode 1, Queen Helena Henstridge (Elizabeth Hurley) and Princess Eleanor Henstridge (Alexandra Park) return for more scandal and drama in, It Is Not, nor It Cannot Come to Good.
During Liam (William Moseley)'s polo game, Eleanor is tweeting while the Queen meets with the Prime Minister during his BDSM role-play. King Cyrus (Jake Maskall) throws his money into the air, buying the people's affection. Earlier, Cyrus and Helena watch on the news as Eleanor has become a tabloid hit, kissing the camera.
Before the polo game, Cyrus will reinstate the siblings' title, but only if they apologize and kiss his ring. Liam has to watch his sister kneel and kiss the ring. It's her plan actually to get in the game and find out who killed their father and brother.
Back at the polo game, Helena has to deal with the press, who remind her the king is vain. The reporter makes her stop walking when he mentions Liam. The players have to stop their horse abruptly when Eleanor walks across the field. Eleanor starts to argue with Jasper (Tom Austen), who's not her boyfriend, nor bodyguard. Jasper ruined their relationship when he slept with her mother.
While Eleanor is seducing and having fake sex with a plot player, Liam interrogates the witness who saw his father stabbed. Liam grabs Jasper's gun and discover the witness was lying. The liar needs protection from Jasper after breaking his deal with him.
Jasper asks about Ophelia but Liam hasn't hear anything from her. Helena spots Eleanor after she is done with her sexual rendezvous. Liam and Eleanor are trying to figure out their new clues and the symbol on the locket. The two argue over whether or not they can trust Jasper.
While getting high, Eleanor stares at the ceiling painting until she closes her eyes. Cyrus hires back the old secret detail, in order to keep an eye on the siblings. Eleanor is working behind-the-scenes with the Prime Minister so that she can sign over the throne.
At a concert, Eleanor is unhappy being surrounded by people. Liam is by himself but at least Jasper is till following his ex. Liam has to deal with the consequences of pulling out a gun. With more security detail, Liam asks for Jasper personally. Mourning for his father, Liam and his mother argue about his biological birthright.
The Grand Duchess (Joan Collins) meets with Cyrus and ask if he fixed the match. The Duchess has to pay off her gambling debt. Liam learns from Jasper that he slept with his mother. Jasper has feelings for Eleanor and realizes that there is a killer on the loose. With Eleanor falling apart, the two are forced to trust each other.
With his lover pregnant, Cyrus doesn't believe the baby is his and offers money to keep her quiet. Liam checks up on Eleanor, realizing she's not doing well as Jasper says. Lima continues to get bad news as Ophelia refuses to pick up when he calls her.
Jasper pays one more visit to Eleanor and apologizes to her. While Jasper follows Cyrus, Helena discovers a fiery warning message for her. The Grand Duchess if she will retaliate?
