Brittney Griner broke a Big 12 single-game record by scoring 50 points in her final regular-season game at Baylor. The 6'8" basketball star also threw down her first home game dunk since her freshman year. The top-ranked Baylor Lady Bears ended Monday night with a 90-68 victory over Kansas State. They concluded their second consecutive undefeated conference title and became the first team to twice get through the Big 12 without a loss. The Lady Bears are all about breaking records, winning 46 consecutive games (including tournament games) and have won 55 in a row at home.

Griner has had 14 career dunks but only four of them have been on her home court and the last one had been on January 2, 2010, when she had two in the same night. This most recent one was also her third career dunk against Kansas State and came with just under 17 minutes left. The crowd on nearly 11,000 went wild as Griner received a pass from Kimetria Hayden, stepped around a defender and one-hand slammed the ball down. As you can tell from the video, Brittney was pretty excited as well. She got her record-breaking 50th point with about 2 minutes left. Then Baylor called a time out and the fans started a chant: "Thank you seniors!"

There were five Baylor seniors in uniform last night and they were all on the starting lineup. A postgame ceremony honored these players as well as student assistant Shanay Washington, who is a former Lady Bears guard but suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament for the fifth time last season and could not play.

Brittney Griner and the rest of the Baylor Lady Bears will open this year's Big 12 tournament on Saturday in Dallas and will also host an NCAA tournament regional in three weeks.
