Taylor Swift Hopes Tina Fey and Amy Poehler "Burn in Hell," Vanity Fair Interview Features Golden Globe Drama, Harry Styles, and Sexism
Taylor Swift doesn't hold back in her cover story interview in the April issue of "Vanity Fair," saying that Tina Fey's and Amy Poehler's slight jab at her during the Golden Globes warrants them a spot in Hell. While hosting the awards ceremony, Fey told Swift to "stay away from Michael J. Fox's son" and focus on herself with "me time." Then Poehler told Taylor to "go for it." The Internet did not like this joke and apparently neither did the country star and pop sensation. When asked what she thought of the joke, Swift responded:
"You know, Katie Couric is one of my favorite people, because she said to me she had heard a quote that she loved, that said, 'There's a special place in hell for women who don't help other women.'"
She moves on to the hot topic of her dating life, saying, "if you want some big revelation, since 2010 I have dated exactly two people." She of course is referring to Harry Styles and Connor Kennedy. She does not go in to much detail on her most recent relationship with Styles, but a close source does say that he "wore her down" and "chased" her for a year. A representative of Styles says that the claims in this interview are "undeniably false." Swift has also been linked to Joe Jonas, Jake Gyllenhaal, and John Mayer.
Continuing on the issue of dating, interviewer Nancy Jo Sales asks the "I Knew You Were Trouble" singer if she is "boy crazy." Swift smiles and responds:
"For a female to write about her feelings, and then be portrayed as some clingy, insane, desperate girlfriend in need of making you marry her and have kids with her, I think that's taking something that potentially should be celebrated-a woman writing about her feelings in a confessional way-that's taking it and turning it and twisting it into something that is frankly a little sexist."
