Charlie Hebdo Drops Cover for First Issue After Paris Attacks: “F*ck Them, We Have Champagne!"

Much of the world finds itself speechless in the wake of the horrific terror attack in Paris, France, last week, but satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo reportedly, and expectedly, has something to say. The paper just released the cover of what will be the first issue out since the attack on their city at the hands of ISIS.

"They have weapons ... F*ck them, we have champagne!" reads the cover of the paper.

Agence France-Presse reports that Charlie Hebdo's managing editor Laurent "Riss" Sourisseau equated France's situation to a Winston Churchill quote, "Blood and tears."

The editor continued, "That's where we are. Without realizing it, the Parisians of 2015 have sort of become the Londoners of 1940, determined not to yield, neither to fear nor resignation, whatever catches them off guard."

The publication has longtime been a symbol of free speech for France. Back in January, the paper came under attack from Islamic extremists after having published photos of the Prophet Muhammad. As a result, 12 journalists were shot at the publication's headquarters, also in Paris.

Charlie Hebdo's cover isn't the only direct response to the Islamic State group. Last Week Tonight host John Oliver had a rather blunt reply to the attack, noting, "F*ck these a$$holes."

The comedian also astutely noted should the Islamic State group attempt to engage in a war of both culture and lifestyle with the likes of France, a country known for succeeding in both, then "good f*cking luck."
