'Supernatural' Season 11 SPOILERS: How Will Castiel Help Sam, Dean Winchester Fight Darkness?
Season 11 of Supernatural is rolling along, and we have a clear direction for where the season is headed. The Darkness is out there, and Sam and Dean Winchester (Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles), as per usual, are the only ones who can stop it. But what about everyone's favorite angel, Castiel (Misha Collins)? We've got some spoilers on what we can expect from him.
Cas was dealing with Rowena's spell for the first episodes of the season, but since then he has basically been binge watching Netflix and not doing all that much. But will that change soon?
Collins spoke to the "Ask Ausiello" column at TVLine and previewed what's in store for his character in the next few episodes.
"Question: How is the Team Free Will relationship going to be this season on Supernatural? We will see them working more together? -Beatriz
Let's just say it's complicated - and there wasn't a lot that Misha Collins could reveal about the trio's interactions during our recent set visit. 'I feel like that dynamic where Cas is helping the boys and we're going to solve problems is always a short-lived one,' Castiel's portrayer shared. 'Things, generally speaking, fall apart sooner or later and somebody is lying to someone else, and there's subterfuge dissembling it and everything is sort of dysfunctional. So that's where we're heading.'"
The only secret Castiel is really harboring right now is that he's still afraid to leave the Men of Letters bunker because he doesn't want to snap again and kill someone. But it's also possible that the brothers hide something from him.
This is the tricky business with having a superpowered angel on the team. The show has to find a way to keep him in check and prevent him from just wiping away all their problems with a flick of his wings.
